I have synthesized SnO2 nanopowders (40-50nm) by chemical route method. I want to make a thin film now out of that sample. What are the possible ways in which I can deposit thin film on glass substrate using the synthesized nano-sample?
If you prefer to deposit a large thin film with uniform thickness, then spin coating is the best option. In that case, first disperse appropriate amount of SnO2 nanopowder in a suitable solvent, then spin coat it on a cleaned dust free glass substrate. You can control the thickness of the film by controlling spinning speed and time. Surface functionalized glass substrate could yield better adhesion between SnO2 nanoparticles and glass with uniform thickness.
If thickness is not an issue, then go for drop and dry or vapor drying deposition technique.
