Synthesis of Graphene Oxide - not by Hummers method?

I am interested in synthesizing Graphene Oxide but not by Hummers method. If any one can suggest from his/her expertise. Also, does other method or even Hummer method ensure a good quality.

Also for qualitative analysis, as per some literature, Raman Spectroscopy seems to be conclusive characterization technique. Your expert comments please.
