I am modeling a batch reactor which is a cubicle box with micrometer dimension. Inside this box there is a liquid water along with a specis A which is getting converted into B through heterogeneous reaction. B is a solid phase. So i am using multiphase eulerian model. initially there is no phase B. After sometime there will be specis B in the system.
But what i see is that total mass is increasing with time in the system. why is this happening?
Can anyone please help me out?

Let me clarify my problem. You are correct. But i am using the density of solid same as the liquid say water-ice system. In that case there is no chance of volume loose/gain.
Any way when I am using one specis say water getting converted to ice using same density, there is no mass balance error using the eulerian method.
When I am using more than one specis say kcl + water mixture where kcl is crystallizing into solid, then i am getting an increase of mass with time(kcl solid and liquid both are having same density). So what do you think can be wrong? I am using heterogeneous reaction method for phase interaction. and using a mixture template for kcl +water.
Volume weighted mixing law has been used to calculate mixture density.
