I have been trying to apply Mie theory to calculate scattering response on a nanoparticle. By solving this equation on a range of wavelengths, the scattering response I get is an exponentially decaying one with respect to wavelength. Can anyone help in this? Because the response I am looking for should have a peak, which my calculations clearly do not show.
I have attached the picture of the curve(with this message), I get when doing the calculations on MATLAB.

What are you trying to show/plot? If it's scattering intensity versus wavelength then this exactly what you'd expect as there's a 1/λ 4 dependence of scattering intensity in the Rayleigh region.

Actually I came across papers which claim that they plotted resonant peaks for LSPR using this equation. So I wanted to replicated their results. I wanted to post the graphs but I am not sure if i am allowed to do so under copyright laws. So I can give you the link to one of the papers.

In this paper the author plots figure 2a using the scattering equation from Mie theory.
On reading your response, I went through the equation the I am using. The equation has k2 in the denominator. Does that not mean that lambda square goes in the numerator?

i"m not sure what you mean by 'k'. Here's an extract from Rayleigh's classic dimensional analysis of the problem in 'On the light and the sky..' from 1871. You'll see that the intensity depends on the inverse 4th power of the wavelength.
And here's MiePlot with the Rayleigh and Mie analyses for a 50 nm (radius) water drop in air varying the wavelength.

I have tried all the methods given above but they all produce a graph similar to the one I have attached with my post above. I am wanting to get a graph like the one attached with this post. They author of the paper cited above claims to have produced it using Mie Theory for a Gold Nanoparticle with a radius of 40nm.
I did also comment on the paper on ResearchGate hoping the author would respond, but that has not happened yet. So, if anyone would help me out here, it would be highly appreciated.
dear Muhammad Shemyal Nisar if i understand your question right then you want to reproduce the Fig. 2(a) in the paper you attached in post by using Mie theory, right?
So what is the problem, it is very easy to reproduce these results, the researchers provided you the useful links. If you still not satisfy then you can cross check the equation 1 by using FDTD method or FEM method i.e scattering cross section= scattering power/incident intensity.

You may use DDSCAT as well as the JaSTA-2 package to evaluate your data. DDSCAT would be very symmetric and approximate approach. Whereas JaSTA-2 which uses T-matrix approach shall provide the exact solutions related to the scattering by spherical particles or any aggregate of spheres.
