I am recently working on periodontal disease, different techniques were described for sampling the contents of the periodontal pocket. the most frequently used method of sampling subgingival bacteria seems to be suitable with paper points, while immunologic biomarkers were usually collected with filter paper strips. I would be grateful if someone would help me regarding the protocol for paper point/paper strip sampling technique.

Hi Adli, Place the filter paper strip in the periodontal pocket until gentle resistance is felt. That is usually 1-2 mm in the pocket irrespective of the depth of the pocket. The time of placement is 30 secs. Measure the quantity of the GCF in periotron and transfer the strip to an Eppendorf tube with PBS.

Why don't you perform a Google (Google Scholar, Medline or others) Search to identify different methods and materials. Once you have those you might ask Researchgate for direction.
It is nice that Ramachandra responded but you will still need to do a search, identify a technique and, most importantly, justify the technique before your institutions' review board.
I just did such a search using the terms above and received 7,990 hits in 0.7 sec searching google scholar. Had I used Google it would be many multiples higher.
