Hi everyone,
I need to isolate CA1 rich region from the whole hippocampus, I am aware about the advanced technique (by the use of vibratome) used to isolate CA1 using vibrotome, but I want to learn any other conventional method which can be useful to get the CA1 region (from septo-temporal axis/ dorso-ventral axis) without the use of any advanced instrument.
Please, share the video or any article that can be helpful.

if you disect the CA1 region in hippocampus using stereomicroscope then u can be able to do that. Using compound phase contrast microscope visualize the CA1 region of hippocampus you visualize and remember to cut the hippocampus region TS section of brain region and thickness of that should be 15-20 uM with cryotome. cut the cube of that region it would be enough for your study.
