Can you describe more detailed what kind of organic pollutants you want to extract?

The extraction methods depends mostly on the physico-chemical properties of the pollutants. I think you ll need different extraction method for soil and water...

Dear Gaurav, in water I assume you want to extract water soluble contaminants? I would suggest to take a look at solid phase extraction (SPE) methods. You can for sure find a bunch of articles on Research gate regarding this issue. Otherwise I suggest you to take a look at the vendor websites e.g. Thermo, Waters or Phenomenex they have excellent sheets which explain how to extract pollutants in liquids and which methods are applicable.

For soils, sludge you can do a bunch of different methods, one is solvent extraction. Which means you use a solvent for extraction of “pollutants” in soil.

Activated carbon is still the best technique of extraction, you have just to control experimental conditions.
