I used this protocol to extract DNA from a wide range of invertebrates:

DNeasy Blood & Tissue Kit

Because there was spin column that purified the DNA extraction.

In the case where tissue contains a lot of chitin, I used a mechanical gridding using Tungsten beads.

I have had great success extracting DNA from arthropods via the CTAB method or the DNeasy Blood and Tissue Kit, as mentioned above!

I found that I obtained higher yields from the kit, but CTAB was much cheaper!

I found scientific information which mention PrepMan Ultra Sample Preparation Reagent for rapid DNA extraction is very useful. Also, the DNeasey B&T kit mentioned above works good.
