Actually YEPDA stands for Yeast Extract Peptone Dextrose Adenine so it's a rich medium further supplemented with adenine to avoid the red pigment accumulation in cells due to ade2 mutation. Why do you want to color yeast cells ? They are easily spotted and identified under any photonic microscope with x100 optics.
You can simply use Potato dextrose Agar or Malt extract agar instead of YEPDA for fungal growth. For staining yeast, you can go for Lactophenol cotton blue or even gram stain. Yeast cells are easily visible at 40x.
