I have zinc oxide 50% in H2O colloidal dispersion nanoparticle and I want to prepare from 100 ppm to 5000 ppm doses. However, this product liquid does not dust, and I can't prepare it. How can I figure it out ?
To concentrate, you can use centrifugation. This is the easiest option. Keep in mind that the concentration may increase the particle size! Zinc oxide nanoparticles absorb strongly in the UV region. You can use it to determine the concentration.
sol-gel technique is used to prepare nanoparticles, it is well recommanded in this area, however there exist other innovative greener procedures. I f you need bibliographic material please feel free to tell me. Regards
in case if final solvent is water, then by dilution method you can prepared desired concentration solution. first convert 50% in ppm, then use this equation
c1v1=c2v2
c1=concentration of stock in ppm
v1=ml of stock (u need to calculate)
c2=100ppm(what ever u want)
v2=final volume of 100ppm solution
obtained value of v1 (ml) have to be added in desired volume of solvent
