Hello everyone,
I am recently working on experimental analysis of intermittent type two-phase air-water horizontal pipe flow. In this regards, i want to eagerly know the dynamics of intermittent flow structures (mainly governing forces or force balance inside the slug or plug type intermittent flow). Can anybody suggest me the literature which includes the free body diagram with considering all forces inside the slug or plug body?

I go through your links and those papers (inside the links) i already have. But i want a very fundamental papers in which detailed explanations about slug and plug flow was mentioned.

Most of the related literature divide the slug flow in three zones: 1.- Slug of bubble, 2.- Bubbly wake and 3.- Plug of liquid. Then the sum of the pressure drop for each zone gives the total pressure drop. The first zone is treated in two ways: through a drag coefficient for the bubble slug or through the free-surface annular flow of the liquid around the bubble, both should be equivalent. The second zone is calculated as a bubbly flow. The third is a conventional full liquid flow. The three zones have lengths correlated with the volume void fraction.
