can any diode which absorbs light show photovoltaic effect ? If not what are the intrinsic property of the materials out of bandgap that show PV effct ? As band gap plays the major role to absorb the corresponding range of light to that particular wavelength. But out of that what are the other factors responsible for photovoltaic effect. Suppose we have materials of same band gap values with same absorption coefficient and electron density then does they give same photovoltaic output ? what is the proper energy conversion mechanism behind this ? kindly suggest me any article related to this with proper mechanism of properties of energy conversion materials which posses this kind of behavior.
