Abishek Lal The volatility of acetone gives you a potentially explosive situation. Remember that only 1% of a ball mill's energy is used in comminution. The rest is converted to heat, light, and noise. Health and safety reasons tell you not to do this. Note that there is a comminution limit - Google this term. You'll not be able to ball mill a sample to < 100 nm. Period.

You can use acetone in ball milling. Heating and explosion in ball milling depends upon the rpm and jar capacity. If you are performing the ball milling at lower rpm and giving one minute rest time after one cycle of rotation, so you can do the milling. But with acetone, it will form graphene oxide. So after removing sample from ball milling, give some heat treatment in Ar atmosphere at high temp to get pure graphite powder.
