I've performed a week ago a western blot in a membrane, and once I completed my assay, I conserved the membrane in my notebook. Now I'd like to perform some assays, for example with mass spectrometric analysis. is it possible according to your experience to use that PVDF membrane or It is "passed away"?
Try avoiding plastic bags if you would like to use them for MS application... Plastic bags might cause PEG problems in the further downstream handling. Pvdf blotted membranes can be used stored at room temperature but keep them covered using aluminium foil. ( at least tht what we do for glycan release of blotted proteins)
Yes of course you can reuse them. You can reuse them by the way Andreas and Monica have mentioned. If you even want to blot it with other primary antibodies, always remember either strip the blot by the stripping protocols which removes the antibodies and then follow the procedure starting from the blocking or if you want to probe with the primary antibody which is specific to the other bands in the protein profile, then you can directly proceed without stripping.
