I am going to calculate the active area of the modified screen-printed carbon electrode by using the Randles-Sevcik equation using 5 mM K[Fe(CN)6]3-/4- in 0.1 M KCl redox probe system. However, the diffusion coefficient of the redox probe system is not determined yet. I'm first conducting a series of experiments varying the scan rate using the redox probe system above to obtain the corresponding peak current. Then is it correct to determine the diffusion coefficient of the redox probe system by presuming the geometry area of the unmodified SPCE as the active area of the SPCE in the Randles-Sevcik equation? Then is it correct for us to calculate the active area of the modified SPCE using the determined diffusion coefficient of the redox probe system?
