I'm working on a thermal comfort model which includes the PMV value as a parameter, I'm stuck at the position of calculating the Mean Radiant Temperature which is a term in the PMV equation. In CFD-Post, the Macro Calculator under the calculators tab allows to calculate the M.R.T. But it gives me an error 'wall irradiation flux' is not in the database. I tried both the DO model and the S2S model.
Whether Fluent provides this or not, you can easily calculate it with an Excel spreadsheet. The mean radiant wall temperature is the area integral and the mean fluid (emitting, absorbing, scattering, participating media) is the volume integral. You should have the face areas and volumes of each cell in your model calculated from nodal locations. Tw=(sum(T^4*Ai)/sum(Ai))^0.25; Tm=(sum(T^4*Vi)/sum(Vi))^0.25; You might want to divide the domain into sections.
