Hi,

the fluorescent probe BODIPY® 581/591 once oxidized shifts from red to green fluorescence and it localizes in the lipid bilayer and does not spontaneously leave it Article C11-BODIPY581/591, an oxidation-sensitive fluorescent lipid ...

But what if the membrane is damaged? In this case, would it be normal to have a decrese in the probe fluorescence ( meaning the probe is not kept within the lipid bilayer?) can it be seen as a marker of lipid damaged?

Thank you in advance

Best,

Elisabetta
