DSL-6A/C1 Lewis rat pancreatic carcinoma cells have been reported to have around 40-60% success rate for solid tumor growth after pancreatic or subcutaneous implantation in Lewis rats.
Currently, we are experimenting with these cells. Initially, they were infected with mycoplasma that we treated with Invitrogen Plasmocin per instructions (https://www.invivogen.com/review-plasmocin). Now, they continue to grow in the culture medium very well. However, we have been having trouble with growing subcutaneous solid tumors. We need to grow the subcutaneous tumor first and then implant the fragments in pancreas due to possibility of abdominal fossa metastasis with direct pancreatic injection of the cells.
We are not sure what we are missing in the process.
I would appreciate any advice or information from those who have had experience with these cells.
Thank you,
