I'm developing a questionnaire to assess the respondents level of agreement to particular statements using Likert-Type Scale. In addition I want to assess their knowledge to a particular topic. Which type of questions that would help me to collect a reliable data. Can I use MCQ questions in a questionnaire?? or there is a better way..

It would be good to have Likert scales. You may then proceed to analyse the psychometric properties of it to see if its reliable to be tested in your study population. Assessing respondents knowledge may be assessed across two types of questionnaire:
1. MCQ type questions - these questions should reflect a single best/correct response.
2. Give statements to the questionnaire pertaining to the condition you wish to assess with response options Yes/No/I don't know.
You should then score the knowledge with (1) as correct answer or (0) as wrong answer. Compute them to get the total scores.
Above all, always use a validated questionnaire where possible with the appropriate scoring methods where possible...or else validate one first!

Well, I think assessing the respondents' level of agreement or disagreement to a particular statement AND assessing one's knowledge related to specific field are two different things and are trying to measure two different things at a time with one questionnaire. So, please be careful with this issue. As far as MCQ or Likert type scale is concern, I agree with Mr. Ganasegeran points.
