You may think that I'm asking this question because I'm Malaysian.  In our national history, we had a period of 'dark ages'; then we had a phase of rapid growth.  And then, who could expect that besides challenges due to the global economy, two of our airplanes would meet up with disasters.  It's really and age of VUCA: volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.

How can we researchers be VUCA masters, than VUCA victims?  As researchers, how can our knowledge, hard skills and soft skills contribute to our ability to master this present VUCA WORLD?
