I am very thankful that I studied in a convent school where I had many responsible science teachers.  Most of the students are good at making hypotheses, carrying out experiments and manipulating apparatus.

But science process skills and manipulative skills are severely lacking among my own students.  What can be done about this?  My neighbor who teaches at a university has also complained about this.  It seems that Gen Y (and Z) students lack these skills, besides communicative skills in writing a good report on their own.  Please describe your own unique experiences and how you overcome this lack of skills.  Thanks.
