How can we induce artificial resistance in lab conditions in plant pathogens, specifically Phytophthora infestans against fungicides? My intension is to see responsible genes those are actually responsible for resistance in pathogens against fungicides.
Waqas Raza It was a popular subject of research at 1980-s. I was doing this at 1987-89 (Phytophthora and Septoria).
First, it can be explained by low frequency of resistance present in native populations of plant pathogen used for experiments, second - by mutations, stimulated by fungicide or just in vitro cultivation of the pathogen. Please, read:
