I think everyone is a bit racist in the depths of the soul. racism is a form of projection of the shadow. I think the solution is not denial of racism, but its correct management. I do not say, of course, that racism is justified.

Thank you, I discovered that I have a bit of racism even I suffered from it abroad. From this moment, I care about what I do even the words with my colleagues, especially who have another religion, colour, political ideas, etc. Anyway, all of us have a bit of racist as you told. However, we must learn how to manage what we have from racism.

I was raised in a small, absolutely segregated town in Oklahoma. My parents were "genteel" racists - they did not use the N word for blacks - they were "Negroes" and Jewish people were Jews. Nor did they use other derogatory terms for Asians. However, they attempted to instill in me that one does not associate with and certainly does not date or marry persons of other races or even Hispanics or Jews. This was in the late 1950s. The wildly popular folk group, The Kingston Trio, progressive in many ways, nonetheless wrote and performed Superman, a song making a joke about Mexicans as "wetbacks." Bill Dana, a comedian, had a character named Jose Jimenez who spoke in an exaggerated and was clearly portrayed as a clown. In the 6th grade our schools integrated earlier than most states because Governor Raymond Gary, who was amazingly from my home town, decided it was the right thing to do and rammed it through the Democratic legislature. The integration happened in Fall 1959 and went pretty smoothly. But the town was still integrated and I was still reflecting the racism of my parents and community. AT age 12 I made friends with a peer in age named Alfonso King, who was my first teacher about the stupidity of racism. I will never forget his intelligence and generosity in the face of institutionalized racism. In 1964 Barry Goldwater opposed the Civil Rights Act in his campaign as n infringement on states' rights by a centralized federal government. I supported Goldwater. My mother was terrified of black men despite her education; my father was once a member of the KKK, which was more like a social club one had to belong to -- like the Rotary Club. In college and the Army my racism was obliterated. I feel no nostalgia for that era, and I have spent much of my career as a lawyer defending black and Hispanic and Asian clients. On a personal level I know I am not a racist, unless despising white supremacists is racist. I do not share the view that racism is inevitable and stereotypes unavoidable. It is not true.

I read and download your article. It is excellent and figures out the track negative changes in the images of the Muslims post 9/11. I would like to know the criteria of the Muslim scholars and media activists who will present Muslims positively at both the national and global levels. I think they are doing the worst to present Islam!. We need a person qualified and have unique skills in communications. Are you agree?

Atef Nassar: I have no solutions to racism; it is an individual matter of introspection and recognition of the innate worth of every individual on the personal level. An approach is one-on-one interaction between two persons. It is a refusal to identify with any tribal subset, not even the human subset, as animals (cats, dogs and other species)by their example can teach us about perception of the real nature of humans which has zero to do with race. The only "tribe" is consciousness, manifesting from the quantum world up through the entire cosmos.

Hello Mr. Nassar, I am very pleased to meet you. To answer your question, no, I am not a racist. I try to get to know people before I judge them. Every tree is known by the fruit it bears (Luke 6:44). I have never known scientists trying to cross-pollinate. I have never known an apple mixing with a banana or a peach mixing with a grape. Have you ever heard of a snake with a rabbit? or a bear with a lion? God does not want us to be confused, (Ezra 10:18-19). God does not agree with cross-pollinating. Yes, I have suffered from racism. I had instructors who judged me because I was a black woman. Once they got to know my spirit, they knew my fruit was good, so we became friends. People must get to know you, so do not let racism hurt you. If you succeeded as a good worker or student on a previous job or assignment it will be brought out in a resume with previous employers and teachers regardless of your race. I remember making friends with a creole in college. I thought the accent was so cute. So I would mark her and the crowd would laugh. This hurt her feelings. So, I stopped. A lot of time people do not know they are hurting you, but if you would tell them how you feel instead of getting angry they will change. Adam means red.

I think it's about two different things: to accept the decisions of our children and not to worry about their inappropriate marriages. The acceptance of decisions is conscious. Restlessness is archetypal, unconscious.

In the village of my grandparents in Transylvania it was shameful and a jokeous joke if a Romanian girl married a boy of another ethnicity.The shame was higher or lower depending on the husband's ethnicity: Roma, Hungarian or German, in that order.

Thank you for frankly speaking. I feel you. I also suffered from racism, one time for my religion (ISLAM) in Austria, you will be surprised if I tell you that my country sons (Christians) did that against me. Another time to my professional (Agriculture Engineering) even I work in my country in the Water Center. I knew they are dwarfs, racists, etc. also for the profession do that!.

Thank you dear Atef Nassar for reading my article. Concerning Muslim activists, yes, I partly agree. There are good scholars in religious and social studies, but they do not have access to powerful media to disseminate their ideas. The good thing, however, is that there has been a strong move or wave to conduct team work (or co-authorship) to implement new ideas. But things take time. We are still optimistic.
