Switching to hydrogenated &/or fractionated fats seems a better option to avoid dissociation of Ca-soaps leading to poor palatability and DMI during summer. However, Indian dairy nutrition market is more attracted towards total fatty acid content in protected fats, in addition to above limitations of Ca soaps.
Yes, we are. Because we fed high concentrated diets we are using Fractionated fats rather than Ca salts ( to avoid releasing it in rumen under low pH conditions).
