We surveyed 70 corresponding authors of past Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) studies. Although respondents cited a wide range of potential benefits from MALL use, most indicated that there was no actual curriculum integration resulting from their study.
It seems that most MALL research is conducted to allow scholars to acquire journal publications, as opposed to providing long-term benefits for students.
