I've been doing a lot of chronic cranial window surgeries, and I'm still looking for a better way to remove the piece of skull without damaging the dura (or brain underneath). I use 6-8 week old mice, and I'm trying to make a window over the olfactory bulb. I irrigate frequently with ACSF, but it still seems like often the dura is quite attached to the bone or other connective tissue, making it very difficult to remove the skull without causing damage. I was just wondering if anyone has any other tips?
