Homopteran pests like Bemisia tabaci are living in some sort of social life. Adults of this pest generally congregate in groups on plant leaves. Earlier studies also proved that B. tabaci can migrate under certain conditions in large populations from one location to another. Undoubtedly, insect pheromones (e.g., aggregation pheromone etc) are involved in such behavior. So, I would like to see if there are any efforts devoted to this aspect which might help in the management of this serious worldwide pest through pheromone traps. Is that possible?
