I'm working with expansion microscopy and I need my samples to have high stability (esp. thermostability) due to intense light beams that are involved in my application. As such, I am trying to find a way to "lock into place" the post-expanded tissue hydrogel. Are there any plastics which can infiltrate a mostly water-filled environment and still polymerize?

Valeria Tananska thanks! Doesn't this paper still describe dehydration as part of the process though? If an expanded tissue sample is dehydrated, it will collapse. Or am I misunderstanding something?
Yes, it does.
It depends on what the expanded tissue sample is (nerve, muscle, skin, bone?)

Also, following on from the discussion above - dehydration in tissue processing usually means replacement of water in the sample with ethanol or acetone (which then allow infiltration of non water miscible resins into the tissue) rather than the usual meaning of the word.
