I was wondering why the interest in 17alpha hydroxy progesterone? This is a metabolite of progesterone (on the pathway to androgens oe glucocorticoids) with less biological activity. There are a few papers I have seen on pubmed on this progestin in crustatceans, and there is quite a literature on the use of 11alphaOHP caproate in preterm labour (attached).
