I just want to know if there are any hybrid bearings available? Particularly curious on aerostatic-roller type of hybrid bearing.
Combination bearings such as roller-ball bearing are already available; For example, https://www.gmb.jp/en/product/bearing/water_pump_bearing.html & https://bearing-needle.com/6combined-ball-roller-bearings-NKX-NKIA-NKIB-NKXR.htm.
By hybrid bearing I mean, bearings using two/more different friction reduction techniques for the intended purpose. Such as ball-aerostatic as mentioned above.

Say, I need to use a bearing for turbocharger (TC) which is required to utilize ball bearing when the turbocharger starts (at lower RPM) and later when TC has reached a higher RPM (say 40k+ RPM) the bearing gradually switches from a ball/roller bearing to Aerostatic/Aerodynamic bearing.
Are there any such bearing available? or Are there people working in such technique?
