When preparing a ternary glassy system we resort to the phase diagram of that composition to know the probable percentage of its constituent elements and to know the probable regions of the amorphous and/or crystalline phase. Are there any other confirmed ways to prepare a glassy system without resorting to the phase diagram and in the same time, we guarantee that the obtained system has the amorphous phase?

what do you mean about phase diagram? Do you mean the equilibrium phase diagram, or the Gibs triangle? You need Gibs triangle if you have to determine the glass formation region in ternary systems. You can study the glass formation in whatever ternary system and you can prove the amorphous phases by XRD, DTA, or TEM analysis.

I mean both the equilibrium phase diagram and the Gibbs triangle phase diagram.
But the most important for me now is knowing the glass formation region of the ternary systems (say Ge-As-Te).
Can I dispense with them altogether by another alternative?
