Laboratory based antibody tests principally reveal whether someone has previously had the nCOVID-19. En-masse screening can gauge the overall level of immunity and in the long run, permit people , though incrementally or piece meal to return to their Professions. The caveat lies in whether these tests are reliable? And whether population screening with such tests, is a possibility. If so , this may be a crucial step forward , in combating the Pandemic , which has so far killed 75 k people world wide and the number of cases is approaching the dangerously high 1.5 million mark , with no Reprieve in sight. RT-PCR is also being performed for the test. Although both of them can show false positive or negative.
Reliability of any test depends on the standards followed up when developing and manufacturing the test. So, depending on the manufacturer the test can be reliable or not.
Antibody test in case of COVID-19 may not detect recent infection, but later on, will provide a quick and economical way of assessing the rate of exposure to the virus in the whole population.
Isotermicalpractice RT-PCR was successfully used in practice for the detection of Sars-Cov-2 as well as the Array's approach.
Negative result of Ab tests doesn't exclude existing infection, since antibodies show up several days after infection (I did not found any infromation about timespan between viremia and presence of Ab against SARS-Cov-2).
In my opinion such tests are not adequate to confirm safety of other workers, it gives just an overview and may be use for screening purpose only.

Because tests based on RT-PCR and arrays are more sensitive, fast, and widely used, they got preferences against the immunotests. The last are useful to find did the person get immunity to the infection.
RT-PCR is the recommended test. Antibody based tests may help but accuracy depends on many factors. You can predict accuracy of any test that is something has to be tested in the lab...
