I have selected "Mixture" in Multiphase model in Fluent.

My case has 2 phases, where water is chosen as Primary and the second one is a particulate phase (small solid material) which is placed in the fluid materials category as mentioned in Fluent User's guide (under 23.9).

According to the above mentioned manual, in order to define the material properties for the secondary phase, the instructions is: "you need to specify only the density; you can ignore the values for the other properties, since they will not be used" (under 23.11.1).

So my question is how other properties like viscosity are going to be determined for the mixture, especially when non-Newtonian power law is being utilized while it's recommended that this should be attached to the primary phase too (under 8.4.5).

What properties should one apply to the secondary phase viscosity when studying non-Newtonian mixture?

Are they being overridden somehow?

Thanks in advance.
