hi there are numerous studies done conducting proteomic and phoshoproteomic analysis on certain cells exposed to mechanical stress. These analyses showed upregulation/downregulation of genes which correspond to its involvement in adaptation to stress stimuli.

i have a particular cell type in the kidney in which i want to study how it responds to mechanical stress. but will it be worthwhile to do this study since nobody has done it before or are these already figured out genes involved in adaptation to stress (in other cells) can also be generally applied to all cells?
