I now have evidence that web-based emails are being actively blocked by at least Clarivate's Scholar One and Wiley's Atyphon, affecting multiple journals across a range of publishers. Additional evidence has been provided that such blockage lists are being based on Amazon's SES. This seemingly quite sudden decision by the corporate publishing world appears to have come into effect sometime in July 2024. This decision might impact authors with web-based emails more than those with institutional emails.
