I want to control a Shimadzu LC-10 (Controller: SCL-10Avp, pumps: LC-10ADvp, autosampler: SIL-10ADvp) coupled to a Waters Quattro Premier XE with Masslynx 4.1. The LC is connected via a serial port to the PC (COM 1, baud rate 9600).
However, I can not establish a conection of the LC with MassLynx. I receive a "not ready" error with "pump flow is off" or a "time-out at serial port COM 1" error with other baud rates. When I start the pumps manually, the error message does not change. As mentioned, I have tried different baud rates and COM ports in all possible combinations.
Further, I have tested other software programs by which I can control the LC without any problems (same PC, same serial connection). So, I assume that the problems is grounded in the MassLynx settings. I have contacted Shimadzu and Waters (Germany) who both tried to help, but do not have any experience in connecting Shimadzu with MassLynx.
Does anyone have experience with MassLynx and Shimadzu and has any further suggestions for me?

Have a look on the pages 1-8 and 1-9. There are the supported Shimadzu systems listed. Please additional check the firmware of your Shimadzu modules. Sometimes the wrong firmware causes problems. Also check the power management settings for your network card. Uncheck the box for the windows power management. If it is checked this leads to communication errors.

I had already checked the firmware - pumps and controller are higher than the specifications (5.30 and 6.10 instead of 5.27 and 5.42), and the autosampler is exactly what is required according to the Release Notes. Waters told me that the requirements in the Release Notes are the minimal ones?!
Also, I just followed your advise to check the power settings, however they are fine.
Further, referring to your other resources, the communication between PC and single LC modules is working, as mentioned, I can control them by a different software (Analyst) or via the CBM without any problems.

We were not able to establish a communication with MassLynx. But we received the tip to use trigger control between the Shimadzu LC and Waters MS and first small tests have worked well.
