I am working on PVA-GMA hydrogel that is a really strong polymeric structure like rubber.

Because I am in the middle of analysis, it is difficult to dissolve the gel using a common solvent.

I tried to use cyclohexane, acetone, isopropyl ether, hexane and tried to avoid the DMSO because it tends to solidify during the winter. The DMSO also used to prepare the PVA solution before crosslinking with GMA. The water also not work for my hydrogel since it is the antisolvent for my hydrogel even though I changed to acidic and basic condition.

Can anyone suggest a suitable solvent and do you have problems for analysis using hydrogel like mine?

Actually, I want to analyze the XRD(I tried to make thin-film by diluting my sample since my sample not in powder form) and UV vis spectrophotometer(liquid form).
