Hello,

I am posting to see if anyone may be interested in sharing lab costs for submitting samples to be DNA barcoded in Guelph at the Canadian Centre for DNA Bardcoding, or other similar lab? I am wishing to submit low DNA concentration samples (e.g. 1-20 ng/uL) obtained from passerine/perching bird fecal material. I want to have them amplified and sequenced for plant (ITS) and insect (ZBJ) barcode regions to identify bird diet items. I have had good success obtaining/idenitfying prey DNA sequences from bird feces at Guelph so far, but the costs are prohibitive!

If you have DNA samples of low concentration and/or derived from stool/bird fecal samples and are interested in having them analyzed for plant (ITS) and insect (ZBJ) barcode regions, please get in touch to see whether we could pool our submissions and share the lab costs proportionally. I hope to have about 200 samples ready to send in February/March 2020.

Thanks for your time,

Chris
