we would like to investigate macrophage polarization in mice with immunohistochemistry in double or triple immunostained kidney and tumor samples. We are looking for reliable antibodies. We would stain all macrophages with CD68 or F4/80 and than would like to differentiate between M1 and M2 with 2 other antibodies. Could you please help with suggesting reliable antibodies for this question? Optimally the antibody would crossreact with human samples, but the primary parameter of the antibody should be that it reliably stains M1 or M2 macrophages.

You can try CD86 for M1 and CD206 (mannose receptor) for M2 macrophages. Please read the following article, as the authors published good IF results in kidney.
