Hi, I have problems to get Benzil and/or Benzoyl Peroxide (0.1% w/v) disolved in LRGold resin. I tried sonicating, and also rocking over night, and still I see partially undisolved crystals at the bottom of the glass vial. I did LRGold embedding before in a different lab and never had problems with it. Any tips on how to proceed? Thanks!
What temperature was the resin? Whenever I've dissolved benxoyl peroxide in LR Gold I've had to warm the resin to room temp (20-24C), mix the benzoyl peroxide in vigorously (shake for 15-30 minutes), and let the catalyst dissolve (at room temperature) for a day or longer (again shaking the mixture when I remembered to).

Perhaps they change the formula, in the past I have always mixed the BME with LR gold in my -20C freezer. It took about 30 min, but did go in at low temps. I would call the manufacturer.

Well I talked to someone from EMS, they told me that LR might have changed the way to stabilize the chemicals due to new shipping regulations. What they told me was to 'mix it really well'.
To conclude this, I found that the best way to dissolve is basically to crush the crystals in LRGold with a glass rod, while manually stirring for about 10-15 min. Dissolving works better if the LRGold is at room temperature, as compared to ice or subzero temperatures.
