I have tried other quantitative systems in the past but always felt the old-fashioned wet transfer and ECL with film detection are far superior to any more modern alternatives. I was sent some info on this system and would like an opinion from users in this community that have tried it in the past.
We purchased it for our core facility, and none of the investigators have been able to get reproducible results. The Protein Simple company has been out to train multiple times, but we have still not had good results. It is very expensive to run. Further, they will not allow us to return the instrument, and will not refund our money so I do NOT recommend their product or company. We are all sticking with traditional WB and film.
Many thanks Jamie, that is very useful advice. I still have to encounter something that beats traditional WB and film.
