I'm a researcher that will be using USCF Chimera, Autodock, and Autodock Vina tools. I've been using an Intel i5 8th Gen processor (i5-8250U) lenovo E480 thinkpad with 8GB of RAM, and I'm planning to install the mol. dock apps here. Clock speed of this laptop is at 1.60 - 1.80 GHz range. Thanks everyone!
These software are not light and your analysis is not computation intensive. Your computer will work fine.
However, check the minimum requirements of the related programs just to be sure.

I believe your laptop specs are good enough to conduct basic molecular docking (even VS using AutoDockVina) and the related software and tools.
However, it does help in speeding up the process if you have a GPU installed as well but it's optional and something to consider if you ever want to explore molecular dynamics simulation (for studying the stability of the complex).

The specification you mentioned is fine but I would suggest placing the system in good ventilation area. If you are using, windows system then never perform tasks with C: drive as workspace. You will not know when the disc gets full and this might crash your OS. especially windows 10.
