Rate of RSL Rise in Chennai-India
In the context of Climate Change, in the near future, whether, would there be ‘significant’ Relative Sea Level (RSL) rise in Chennai (India) that could possibly be driving an increased inland penetration of above-ground and subterranean salt water fronts affecting coastal ecosystems, agriculture and water resources – in and around Chennai?
In such cases, would we require the details on ‘Rate of RSL rise’ in the vicinity towards determining the survival and net pressure on niche coastal ecosystems including mangroves, tidal flats, sea grasses and coral reefs?
Any significant changes expected – in and around - Calm beach, Tiruvottiyur beach, N4 beach, Marina beach, Edward Elliots beach & Neelangari beach – resulting from enhanced Rate of RSL Rise (associated with the Climate Change) – in the near future?
