Performing methanol extraction of adult male rat plasma samples followed by detection of NAD+, NADH, and NMN with HPLC/MS. Blood was collected in K2EDTA tubes. Any information on basal metabolite levels would be much appreciated.
We have just established a method to quantify NAD+ and NADH in human plasma in our study group, see the paper attached. Human levels were roughly in the 200nM range, so I would believe rodent levels should be comparable.

unfortunately, I do not know the range of NAD+ in erythrocytes. However, I came across this article. The authors measured NAD+ levels (I think they mean quantity here) in mouse erythrocytes which were on the order of amol/cell. Look at Figure 5B. Hope this helps!
