We do in our lab. We transfer the analog torque signal from the back of the Biodex to a BIOPAC system and collect it at 2000 samples/sec. We use our own software to determine the onset of torque production and calculate the slope of the rapidly increasing portion. Feel free to send me a message if you have any specific questions.
Hi, we've also tested it just like Jason described. There are two publications attached using these methodologies, but it is basically to register the torque and calculate the slope as Jason described. By using Biodex software for recording, the torque sampling rate is very low (about 100 Hz), but if the torque is recorded from another device (EMG amplifier for instance) it can reach reasonable sampling rates like 500 to 2000 Hz.
Torque can be positive or negative (depends on the joint movement on Biodex) so pay attention also to this detail when calculating the slopes. Please feel free to contact if there are questions.
