Hello,

I am very newbie for silicone process, and recently, I need to handle high consistency rubber (a.k.a high consistency silicone elastomer) as a sub-step of device fabrication.

I found that the standard process for silicone softening & mixing is two- or three-roll milling (whatever the HCR is one-part or two-part material) and it seems a unique option for that.

My quick question is (perhaps it sounds pretty naive to someone...) if I can do mixing and softening the HCR just by a simple roller (like a stainless steel rod) and if anyone has a similar experience.

I need a feasibility check to determine if the use of HCR is appropriate for my research, and therefore, establishing a two-/three-roll milling machine, which is quite expensive, is not available for now.

Any comments and/or advice would be extremely grateful.

Regards,

Seongjun
