Is a double band in ingel flourescence fig 5 in most of the lanes a gel artifact or is it a glycosylated form of the protein?

The upper band could be a glycosylated form, or the lower band could be a proteolyzed form. Other post-translational modifications are possible, as well. One could test for glycosylation by seeing whether the upper band is eliminated by treatment with PNGase F. Mass spectrometry could also be used to see whether either band has the expected mass.
