Do anti-glucocorticoids have realistic potential to be exploited as therapy for diabetes?
I dont support the idea that they should be used as an anti diabetic therapy because they have been shown to cause hyperglycemia which is what is been treated in dm
I think it is a good idea because it is a main hormone which regulate glucose homeostasis and is adaptive in nature at acute condition. but most of endocrine disregulators act on HPA axis and stimulate adrenal to secrete more glucocorticoides and many studies shows involvement of HPA axis alteration and induction of insulin resistance. i think it is the one of major culprit in inducing metabolic syndrome
Hyperglycemia by antiglucocorticoids? To the best of my knowledge, the only potent antiglucocorticoid i know is ru486, and it has been demonstrated to be efficient in reducing the degree of phenotype in genetically obese mice.
Can you kindly give references in favour of what u said. Its very interesting and i would like to know more.

You need first to know the interference of the chosen antiglucocorticoid with most steroid hormone receptors (GR MR AR ER) since glucose metabolism is dependent on most steroid hormones.
