How to add the catalyst in the rate equation in Aspen HYSYS. Currently, it is showing as the function of reactor volume (m3), and there is no option that can make the units as mol/s.g-cat.Pa. Thank you.
Can you please specify what you mean. The catalyst determines the character of rata low. So a given equation with specified parameters concerns a given catalyst.
In Aspen HYSYS, I am getting rate units as kg mole/m3.s.Pa, while I want units of kg mole/g-cat.s.Pa.
Which type reactor did you use? You can enter the catalyst datas in reaction sets.
You can convert to units of kgcat by using equation which has the properties of the catalyst and reactor such as void fraction, catalyst density, particle size.
So the question was about the conversion of the reaction rate constant units. Interesting. But this is not "add the catalyst in the rate equation".
