I want to test the ACE inhibitory effect of my phenolic extracts. Can you give me a proper and suitable protocol for doing it? My phenolics came from the leaves of a plant material.
Thank you Dr. Fernandez. I found the article titled "Microginins, Zinc Metalloproteases Inhibitors from the Cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa" from the info you provided and saw the ACE inhibitory assay used in the study.
Hi jovale, First thing which method do yoy like to go invivo or invitro. For invitro there are two special methods 1. Colorimetric method 2. HPLC method. Please do find this in Angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptides derived from arachin by simulated gastric digestion. Jimsheena, V.K.; Gowda, Lalitha R. Food Chemistry vol. 125 issue 2 March 15, 2011. p. 561-569 DOI: 10.1016/j.foodchem.2010.09.048. ISSN: 0308-8146.
"Rapid neurobehavioural analysis based on the effects of an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor from Tephrosia purpurea in Zebrafish" ANNALS OF NEUROSCIENCES, VOL 19, 2012.
Please find the literature for your reference. It will help you.
Hi! The article you provided is a good one but I don't need a paper that tackles acetylcholinesterase inhibition. What I need are studies done and validated protocols for determining ACE (Angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitory activity. By the way, I will keep the paper in case I happen to study acetylcholinesterase chemistry in the future. Thank you!
dear, directly from a plant extract u cant find out its properties, and if u already knew that its AChE inhibitor than might u knew the structure also and if everything is known then u can select a standard AChE inhibitor and in compare with that standard u can check AChE inhibitory activity of your compound, and publication depends on activity of your active compound, it should be more than standard.
Sir Singh, I am screening for unknown compounds from sources not yet tested. Yes, it is a bit of a challenge but I am sure all of this will come through. By the way thanks for your input. I will definitely take that into consideration.
Sir Jallapally, I got the article you initially sent me. If you have more literature available, kindly email them to me at [email protected]. Thank you very much!
Yes, Danillo Macedo It is Possible I have tried Exvivo Method using Langdroff apparatus taking rat Aortic rings and stimulated using Angiotensin I (Commercially Available from Sigma)
